Biotechnological products, such as enzymes in washing powder and alternative protein sources, have become one of region Zealand’s positions of strength. Here, several Danish biotechnology companies with unique products, knowledge and skills within biosolutions form a dynamic ecosystem.
A large consortium of public and private operators aim at lifting the entire sector to an international level. The consortium will fund investments in laboratory equipment, tests, demonstrations, production facilities, facilitate innovative collaborations between companies and universities and seek to strengthen education/attracting qualified skills to the region.
The project is part of a political reform package for the Danish economy, allocating DKK 500 mio. to secure the future of Danish positions of strength. Better biosolutions will lead to green growth, export, and green jobs – and significantly contribution to the green transition in Denmark.
