Linde Gas’ Head of Green Hydrogen Sales in Denmark, Ulrik Nielsen, says that the investment could easily amount to EUR 100 million. This sum will only cover the facility itself, since the further plan is to include conversion of the hydrogen to green ammonia as another manifestation of the X in Power-to-X (PtX). The source of the plant’s electricity is not determined yet, just as no investment decision has been made on who will provide the electrolyzer. The port of Aabenraa has one of the Baltic Sea’s deepest ports, and an attractive location close to Europe’s third-largest diesel hub in Padborg at the E45 highway and the Danish borders to Germany.
