Japanese technology leader Imasen has strengthened its presence in Northern Europe as the company accelerates the global rollout of its newly developed walking-assistance device, aLQ.
When
Founded in 1939, Imasen is a global manufacturer with 2,728 employees and annual sales of USD 611 million. While widely recognised for its automotive and aviation components, the company is rapidly expanding its welfare-technology portfolio, including electric wheelchairs, sports prostheses and now aLQ.
Seeking a scientifically robust environment to validate aLQ for global markets, Imasen engaged with Denmark’s leading rehabilitation research community. Following initial contact in a workshop hosted by Aalborg University, Imasen initiated a three-year joint research project (2020–2023) with Aalborg University and Aalborg Municipality. The company supplied devices and co-funded the project.
The collaboration has already produced several scientific publications, demonstrating the strong synergy between Imasen’s engineering expertise and Denmark’s world-class research capabilities.
