After the opening sessions, the event is structured into two parallel tracks “Plants” and Patients” with three sessions each. Audience will be able to choose which track to join for each session. 

Opening sessions

Presentations on the opportunity for collaboration in the Danish medical cannabis industry by May-Britt Kattrup of the MCI – Medical Cannabis Industry of Denmark
Lone Knudsen Krogsbøll of Invest in Odense and Christian Carlsen of Volver Ventures will present public-private collaboration models in Denmark, including the popular Cannabis Investors Summit hosted in Odense each year, along with Invest in Denmark. 

Session 1 

• Plant (Topic: Plant sciences)

  Dr. Anna-Catharina Roper of the Danish Technological Institute will host a discussion with Dr. Max Jones of University of Guelph on advances in plant sciences and their applications to medical cannabis production. 

• Patient (Topic: Product design) 

  Dr. Annette Mullertz of Bioneer will chair a discussion on new technologies for controlled dosing with Dr. Anna Ladegaard Bruun of the Technical University of Denmark and Heidi Ziegler Bruun of Fertin Pharma, outlining key factors like bioavailability and precision dosing. 
  
  

Session 2

• Plant (Topic: Cultivation strategies of the future)

  Dr. Jesper Peter Mazanti Aaslyng of the Danish Technological Institute will chair a panel with Dr. Nirit Bernstein, Volcani Institute, to better understand cutting edge plant pathology research in Israel and how it is applied to the field of medical cannabis. 

• Patient (Topic: Clinical Research)

  Dr. Carsten Hjorthøj from the University of Copenhagen/Copenhagen Research Center for Mental Health (CORE) will present an up-to-date overview on his own research while highlighting the community of active researchers in Denmark. He will then host a presentation by Dr. Valentino Parravicini of Oxford Cannabinoid Technologies of the UK, who is leading research efforts to bring medical cannabis in line with the broader pharmaceutical industry. 
  
  

Session 3 

• Plant (Topic: Understanding cannabinoids)

  Dr. Rime Bahij of the newly established QNTM Labs in Odense will host Dr. Hinanit Koltai of the Volcani Institute to explore the various approaches used in understanding the complexity and medicinal applications of medical cannabis. 

• Patient (Topic: Prescribing and dosing)

  Denmark’s leading prescriber of medical cannabis, Dr. Tina Horsted of Horsted Clinic will host a panel discussion with a leading Canadian practitioner, Dr. Caroline MacCallum of the University of British Columbia, based on the emerging evidence used for creating dosing guidelines for patients across various indications. Her publication Practical Consideration for Medical Cannabis Administration and Dosing is the first of its kind on medical cannabis dosing, and her newer research has been published in a recent compendium Cannabinoids and Pain. 

The day will end with a final panel hosted by Dr. Ulrik Nielsen of Invest in Odense, focusing on national innovation systems and collaboration models. He will interview esteemed guests to provide an overview of approaches used elsewhere to support collaboration and innovation. This includes Dr. Leon Warne of Little Green Pharma to highlight the Australian model, along with Juriën Koster of the Instituut Medicinale Cannabis Nederland to present the emerging model of collaboration in the Netherlands.
