Meet us at Bluetech Week 2023
Denmark is committed to reach very ambitious climate action goals: to reduce overall carbon emissions by 70% already by 2030 and to reach net zero by 2045. Today more than 75% of the energy in the Danish electricity grid is from renewable sources – one of the highest levels in the world – and the goal is to reach 100% green electricity in the grid by 2027.
Danish organizations are at the forefront of green technology and knowhow. Denmark already has a national fueling infrastructure in place for electric, hydrogen and natural gas vehicles. And our maritime industry is both establishing liquefied natural gas terminals and focusing on green gasses in its technology development.
Denmark’s political ambitions is to scale in particular offshore wind capacity to at least triple the national consumption, thereby becoming a net exporter of renewable energy either through direct electrification or green hydrogen and derivatives, also referred to as power-to-x.
Denmark is also home to world-renowned companies such as A.P. Møller-Mærsk Group, Torm, DFDS, J. Lauritzen, Svitzer and Norden. This gives us a strong foundation for setting maritime industry standards.
Through our solid maritime platform, it is possible to pursue business opportunities across sectors. Offshore Center Denmark, for example, supports the combined innovation efforts of global players such as Maersk, Vestas and Ørsted within offshore supply, logistics and renewable energy operations.
