Join us for a roundtable discussion on the energy ecosystem in Denmark. Speakers will highlight what Denmark is doing within clean energy, our framework conditions and investment opportunities for North American companies. We will present innovative projects such as the energy islands, offshore wind and green hydrogen projects that contributes to Denmark's goal on becoming carbon neutral by 2045.

Special Advisors at Invest in Denmark Maria HilLigsøe
Maria Hilligsøe Heinig Stubberup, Master of Science in International Business Economics. Special Advisor, cleantech, at the Invest in Denmark, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark for the past 17 years. Areas of responsibility: Power-to-X (green hydrogen) and green fuels (for maritime, road transport and aviation). In collaboration with our Investment Managers abroad, my role is to assist foreign companies, who wish to invest in Denmark with tailor-made services such as e.g. introduction to framework conditions, introduction to Danish eco-system of companies, finding relevant sites, getting established, help framing the business case, performing benchmark analysis, contact to relevant authorities etc.![]()
Debuty Director General at the Danish Energy Agency Mogens Hagelskær
Mogens Hagelskær, Deputy Director General at the Danish Energy Agency, is responsible for the Center for Energy Islands. Prior to joining the Danish Energy Agency, Mogens was CEO at Odense Tramway, Light Rail Director at Odense municipality and Director at DSB Travel Agency. Mogens is a computer scientist from Lyngby Business Academy, and has participated in Executive Programmes at both INSEAD (2017) in France and London Business School (2019).![]()
SVP Renewables & PtX at COWI Jan Behrendt Ibsø
Jan Behrendt Ibsø joined COWI in 2017 and was in January 2022 appointed COWI Group Senior Vice President for Renewables and PtX. In this role, he is involved in accelerating the green transition through major projects including forming COWIs strategy and market approach for Offshore Renewables, Energy Islands and PtX. He has worked for more than 20 years in global energy sectors, leading and executing growth strategies and streamlining global delivery of services and solutions in several large organisations. Having been part of several offshore renewables projects, Jan has worked on both sides of the table: Both with direct offshore wind project development and with management of offshore renewable projects incl. consultancy, advisory, and certification. Jan holds deep insight into the markets, technologies, and business processes of the industry and has been elected to multiple national standardisation committees. Jan holds a M.Sc. in Civil Engineering and a Ph.D. in Offshore Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark.![]()
