Denmark is on track to build one of the world’s largest cultivation footprint in medical cannabis, all based on full GMP certified, pharma-grade production. Launching in 2018, the Danish medical cannabis ecosystem has evolved significantly. This rapid progress has been driven by a combination of high regulatory standards, reliable access to sustainable energy, deep expertise in the global pharma industry, and strong roots in building world-class horticulture businesses.

But the most significant development is yet to come, and will be based on Denmark’s commitment to research and development, industrialization and automation, and established strengths in product design, innovative pharma sector, and collaboration. We see examples of successful development across the value chain, with cultivation at a European scale, processing and extraction based on high standards, and innovative startups emerging from Danish universities. The Denmark stage will present examples of each.
