Join Invest in Denmark in Copenhagen during World Hydrogen Week 2025

Join us and 3,500+ senior hydrogen professionals in Copenhagen during World Hydrogen Week from 6–10 October 2025 for a week of specialised training, intelligence and networking to help accelerate hydrogen projects through FID into operational phase with the ultimate goal of decarbonising the hard-to-abate sectors and reaching net-zero.

World Hydrogen Week returns to Copenhagen's Bella Center with this year’s programme featuring the 6th annual World Hydrogen Congress, the CCUS Summit, the Global Hydrogen Projects Summit and new features like Offtaker Networking Breakfast Roundtables, the S&P Genius Exchange, and a new revamped exhibition area as well as Hydrogen Field Trips to facilities across Denmark.

Tailor your week for personalised knowledge sharing, networking and partnering opportunities to help realise your project.

Join us for the Masterclass: defence, e-fuels and dual-use

Can defence investments help fund innovation, mature technologies and stimulate new markets for green fuels?

Join Invest in Denmark and the Confederation of Danish Industry during World Hydrogen Week for a Masterclass that will explore how defence investments and innovation can also help accelerate Europe’s green transition and how energy and security policy intersect in Denmark.

📅 Tuesday, 7 October 2025 from 11:30–13:00
📍 Bella Center, meeting room: C1-M1 (Stream B)

Hear from industry leaders including National Defence Technology Center, Arcadia eFuels, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, European Energy, and Everllence and engage in a discussion on how the defence and energy sectors can help ensure and develop national autonomy, competitiveness, resilience, and sustainability.

Let's talk about why Denmark

Denmark offers excellent conditions for green hydrogen/power-to-x projects based on the abundant availability of green power, a future hydrogen pipeline access to the large German green hydrogen market, off-take opportunities across sectors incl. maritime and aviation and a focus on multiple e-fuels and the entire value chain to help decarbonise transportation, agriculture and industry.
  • In 2024, 88% of the energy in the Danish electricity grid was from renewable sources and the goal is to reach 100% green electricity in the grid in some areas (DK1 and DK2) already by 2027. This will allow for e-fuel production with power sourced directly from the grid to be certified compliant with EU standards (RFNBO/Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin).

  • With 40+ announced power-to-x projects (including production and consumption according to figures from Hydrogen Denmark) and a combined pipeline of around 17-18 GW future capacity, industry is already aiming above the political target to reach 4-6 GW of electrolysis capacity by 2030 announced as part of Denmark’s Strategy on Power-to-X.

  • The Danish government has already allocated DKK 1.25 billion for power-to-x fuel production.

  • The first phase of the hydrogen backbone pipeline will be built from Esbjerg to the German border by 2030. Energinet (Denmark’s national Transmission System Operator) is committed to ensure that market players can establish power-to-x clusters and will support the development of markets and infrastructure for hydrogen in Denmark.

  • Denmark offers some of the lowest power prices in Europe for non-household consumers.

  • Sites are available for large scale Power-to-X projects with salt caverns available also for green hydrogen storage.

  • Denmark has a strong ecosystem of companies working in Denmark with Power-to-X development and implementation in transportation, agriculture and industry.
