The Taiwanese company, GlobalWafers Co., Ltd., has acquired the Danish company, Topsil Semiconductor Materials A/S. The acquisition serves to pave the way for the companies to become the best silicon wafer suppliers in the world.
When
GlobalWafers Co., Ltd. is a world-leading silicon wafer manufacture. Topsil Semiconductor Materials A/S is a world leading supplier of ultra pure silicon to the global semiconductor industry. The companies have been working closely together for almost 20 years and with the acquisition the relationship will be even further strengthened.
The acquisition will enable GlobalWafers Co., Ltd. to expand its operation into float zone wafers and consolidate its global position within the semiconductor industry.
For Topsil Semiconductor Materials A/S, the acquisition will contribute to a strengthening of the company’s worldwide distribution platform and significantly accelerate the company’s development.
The Danish Minister for Foreign Affairs, Kristian Jensen, welcomes GlobalWafers Co., Ltd. to Denmark:
