In November 2022, the Singapore Fintech Festival, which is the world's largest of its kind, took place with more than 62,000 participants. The Trade Council was present to support a Danish delegation from Copenhagen Fintech. Invest in Denmark cooperated as synergy power for the event.

In close collaboration, the Trade Council and Copenhagen Fintech arranged various events at the festival, including a networking reception at the ambassador's residence, specific events on topics like sustainable fintech and WEB3, and presented the possibilities for investing in Danish fintech companies. A series of meetings were also set up between individual parties from Singapore and Denmark.
The Danish start-up Performativ, which participated in the festival, has received a significant investment from the Singaporean investor, Iglobe Partners, after the event.
The investment in the start-up was made possible because of the strong collaboration between the Trade Council, Invest in Denmark and Copenhagen Fintech. By having a common approach and focusing on a growing sector where innovation is high, Danish companies can export their products and solutions to several countries and secure necessary investments to create growth both in Denmark and globally.
It was very rewarding at Singapore Fintech Festival. In particular, we were grateful for all the work done by the Trade Council and Copenhagen Fintech, as it has been crucial for securing us an investment in Performativ.
It is a huge milestone for us, a small Danish startup, to be on stage in Singapore next to the world's largest financial institutions. It is, and always has been, important that when you are from a small country like Denmark, you have to prove your worth every day. In addition, the Trade Council provided two more companies with assistance in expanding to the Singaporean market, offering advice on market entry and strategic partnerships. Singapore serves as a financial hub for Southeast Asia of which there is an increased interest from Danish companies in establishing a regional office. SMEs in particular can benefit from having a central hub that can access the entire growth region's markets. This accelerated awareness for the region is supported by the joint effort to promote Danish strengths in the growing fintech sector.
