DigiPlex enters the Danish market with the opening of a Copenhagen data centre
Invest in Denmark and Copenhagen Capacity have advised DigiPlex in the process of entering Denmark.
Denmark has succeeded in attracting significant data centre investments and investments in fibre connections to the US and Ireland. These investments contribute significantly to our Danish digital growth potential. We are proud that DigiPlex with their 17-year track record and focus on innovative and sustainable data centres has decided to place their next data centre in Copenhagen. This confirms the attractiveness of Denmark as the premier data centre destination for both hyperscale developments and leading co-location providers.
The data centre is located in central Copenhagen and was previously owned and operated by the Swedish telephone company and mobile network operator, Telia.
In a sale and leaseback transaction between the two companies, ownership of the facility has been transferred to DigiPlex and Telia is the data centre’s first anchor customer. The DigiPlex Copenhagen data centre is ready to on-board new customers immediately.
As the leading Nordic data centre operator, entering Denmark is a natural step in our evolution. The acquisition of this site gives us an instant presence in central Copenhagen and we are ready to welcome new customers immediately. Our aim is to be the market leader in each Nordic market we operate in and we are investigating both greenfield and brownfield sites as part of the next step of our expansion.
