Denmark claims 5th spot in ranking of global attractiveness for talents
The global competition for talent is intensifying. In order to thrive, businesses need to be able to attract sought-after specialists, competent managers, and the right new talent. Denmark is a prime location for business investments, owing not least to its position as a highly attractive place for global talent, as attested in the IMD’s annual World Talent Ranking assessments.
In the 2024 World Talent Ranking*, Denmark claims fifth spot, highlighting its position as one of the best global destinations for top talent. As IMD notes in its 2024 report, Denmark is particularly strong when it comes to the level of worker motivation, an emphasis in the private sector of on-the-job training and upskilling, as well as a strong belief that judicial processes can be expected to be fair**.
IMD’s ranking draws on a number of statistical and survey-based indicators to assess how attractive each country is for global talent. Some of the key findings are that out of the 67 countries included in the assessment:

The methodology of the World Talent Ranking calculates Talent Competitiveness according to 31 indicators across 3 categories:
- Investment and development (i.e. the investment in and development of home-grown talent)
- Appeal (i.e. the extent to which a country taps into the overseas talent pool)
- Readiness (i.e. the availability of skills and competencies within the talent pool).
67 countries are covered in the ranking, including most European and North American and a large number of South East Asian and Latin American economies.
