Sichuan Airlines opens direct route between Chengdu and Copenhagen

Sichuan Airlines has opened a new direct route between Chengdu and Copenhagen. The route is the third new route between China and Denmark in 2018.

According to the Danish consultancy Damvad Analytics, the new Chengdu-Copenhagen route will increase trade and investment opportunities between China and Denmark. It is estimated that the route will contribute to an increase in Denmark’s GDP for around 175 million DKK annually.

Next year, 330.000 seats will be available for direct flights between China and Denmark. That is an increase of 84 % compared to 2018. The improved connectivity will further enhance the business opportunities and tourist travel between the two countries and consequently create a significant positive impact on job creation and GDP on both sides.

Invest in Denmark and Copenhagen Capacity have actively worked together to attract the new route by providing Sichuan Airlines with advice and support in the process.

The route between Chengdu and Copenhagen will be flown with an Airbus A330-300 aircraft that can accommodate 301 passenger. Copenhagen is Sichuan Airlines’ third European destination.
