New partnership in Denmark - Ubiqisense and Atos will jointly offer an IoT-based Smart Building service

The COVID-19 crisis has shown companies the importance of optimizing costs, ensure right utilization of physical facilities and comply with the company’s confidentiality regulations. For that reason, Danish start-up company, Ubiqisense and Atos SE have entered a partnership to offer their customers a joint service called “Smart Building as a Service”, focused on optimization of facilities usage.
Atos will leverage the solutions produced by Ubiqisense, based on Internet of Things for offering a service applicable to any office building enabled for improving utilization. Functionality includes space usage optimization, energy saving and more efficient cleaning delivery, as well as compliance with confidential information management procedures. The collaboration with Ubiqisense enables Atos to tap into the innovative Tech scene in Denmark.

The state of the art smart sensor systems, which are developed utilising Danish strongholds in AI, data-driven solutions all wrapped up in streamlined and functional Danish design, drives Atos’ investment in the partnership with Ubiqisense.

The relationship between Atos and Ubiqisense was established through the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the accelerator programme “GoB2B Munich” driven by The Innovation Centre Denmark in Munich and supported by Invest in Denmark. The ambition of the programme is to introduce Danish start-ups to leading industry players in Germany and, in a combination of workshops facilitated by experts and direct exposure to representatives from relevant corporations, to drive successful business conduct in Germany.

The software application explained

The two solutions that will address these challenges are:
  • The UBIcapture sensor, a vision-based sensor capable to detect objects and people, included in a complete IoT edge computing architecture.
  • The Ubiqisense solution, an Artificial Intelligence based solution, which collects the right information from the sensor and offers the right information at the right time for achieving the whole smart building functionality.
The service adheres fully GDPR (Global Data Protection Regulations) as the images captured by the sensors are never stored or transmitted, and the metadata sent by sensors do not include any sensitive information.
