Green Investment Support Scheme 2025
Supporting the production of green technologies
Denmark’s government is investing in the growth of green technologies, providing direct financial support to companies involved in:
- Wind turbine production
- Manufacturing of wind turbine components
- Power-to-X technology (electrolysers)
This initiative enables business to establish new or expand existing production facilities in Denmark. The scheme operates under the EU’s Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework, which allows EU member states to offer more financing on more favourable terms to strengthen Europe’s green industrial production. It is a key part of the EU Commission's Green Deal Industrial Plan, designed to enhance the EU's capacity to produce essential green technologies domestically.
Design and target group of the investment support scheme
The scheme is managed by EIFO and has been allocated an additional 500 million DKK, supplementing the remaining funds from the 2024 budget. In total, approximately 657 million DKK will be available in 2025.
Eligible companies can apply for up to 15% of the establishment costs as direct subsidies to support new production capacity. This funding is included in the government's 2025 Finance Act. The scheme specifically targets:
- Companies producing wind turbine technology and electrolysers (technology for Power-to-X) in Denmark
- Manufacturers of key components for wind technology and Power-to-X production in Denmark
- Businesses involved in the extraction and production of critical raw materials for these industries
Application process for 2025
The scheme is administered by EIFO, and application terms, conditions and forms are already available on EIFO's website. The official application deadline will be announced via press release, along with key dates for submission in 2025.
Producers of, among others, the following components are eligible for support:
Wind technology
The scheme provides the opportunity to apply for financial support for the production of wind turbines and components such as turbines, wind turbine blades, nacelles and gearboxes.
Electrolysers
The scheme provides the opportunity to apply for financial support for the production of electrolysers, which is the technology used for the production of hydrogen (Power to-X), as well as the production of components for these such as compressors, anodes and cathodes.
