Foreign Direct Investments into Denmark grew 2 % last year
The annual stocktaking of Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) into Denmark shows an increase of 16 bn DKK (around 2.3 bn USD) to a total of 887 bn DKK. In 2023, this corresponds to a 1.8% increase from the previous year.
As a top destination for FDI and ranking third in the world on the IMD Competitiveness Ranking, it is perhaps no surprise that Denmark manages to attract significant amounts of foreign direct capital. However, the stock of FDI into Denmark has declined in the preceding two years, likely as a reflection of the COVID lockdowns and disruptions of global trade and supply links. The data released by the Danish Central Bank highlights that this trend was reversed in 2023 with Denmark firmly back on a positive trajectory with growing foreign investments into the country.
