Denmark once again ranked as European leader in innovation

Once again, Denmark is in the group of innovation leaders according to the European Commission’s European Innovation Scoreboard for 2019.

Attractive research systems, human resources and an innovation-friendly environment stands out as Danish positions of strength according to the European Commission’s European Innovation Scoreboard for 2019.

The report divides the 28 EU countries into four groups according to their innovation strengths and weaknesses. Denmark is among the four countries in the Innovation Leaders group. In 2019, only Sweden and Finland score slightly higher than Denmark.

In the scoreboard, the European countries are measured on 27 different indicators of innovation. In 15 out of 27 indicators, Denmark scores 120% or above compared to the average for all European countries. Lifelong learning, international scientific co-publications and public-private co-publications are especially high in Denmark.
