Denmark Launches a National One stop shop to Coordinate and Streamline the Permit Process of Production Companies

To support industrial growth and create better conditions for production companies, the Danish government has launched a new One stop shop service for production facilities.

The case handling of permits for production facilities are often complex processes for companies when establishing or expanding production sites in Denmark. With the One stop shop service the aim is to create a streamlined, efficient and time-fixed case handling.

The One stop shop is managed by the Danish Business Authority (Erhvervsstyrelsen) in close collaboration with relevant municipalities and national authorities. While individual permits remain under the authority of the relevant bodies, the One stop shop acts as a central coordinating hub.

Supporting Strategic and Sustainable Growth

To get assistance from the One stop shop, companies must meet at least one of the following criteria:
  • Require permits from both municipality and national authorities

  • Involve investments exceeding DKK 100 million

  • Support net-zero technologies (as defined in the Net-Zero Industry Act - NZIA)

  • Include extraction, processing, or recycling of critical raw materials (under the CRMA)

The companies eligible for the One stop shop will be assigned a dedicated case handler, and will receive a tailored and time fixed roadmap for the necessary permits, ensuring a coordinated and transparent approval process across all agencies.

The goal is to speed up the case handling time from the initial investment decision to first ground-breaking – with case processing capped at either 12 or 18 months, depending on the project's complexity.
