Denmark is among the best to grow, attract and retain talent

Denmark ranks fifth when it comes to competing for talent in the annual Global Talent Competitiveness Index published by INSEAD. The report ranks 125 countries according to their ability to grow, attract and retain talent.

The ability to enable, retain and grow talent is specifically highlighted as a position of strength in Denmark according to the Global Talent Competitiveness Index (GTCI).

The index distinguishes between six pillars of competences: Attract, Enable, Grow, Retain, Vocational and Technical Skills and Global Knowledge Skills. Denmark ranks among top 10 in all the latter five.

The Global Talent Competitiveness Index is an annual benchmarking report ranking countries according to their ability to compete for talent. Since the index was first published in 2013, Denmark has ranked among top 10.

Flexible labour market and strong social protection

In this year’s report, Denmark performs exceptionally well in the categories of ‘Enable Talent’ and ‘Retain Talent’.  In the former case, Denmark’s strong regulatory and market landscapes are complemented by exemplary labour and business conditions that combines flexible labour markets with comprehensive social protection.

As for retaining talent, the report highlights Denmark strong performances when it comes to both a focus on sustainability and lifestyle.

Copenhagen is best in Europe

Not only Denmark receives a high ranking in this year’s report. The Danish capital, Copenhagen, also receives an impressive spot as best in Europe when comparing cities.

The report includes the Global Cities Talent Competitiveness Index, where Copenhagen ranks second in the world. 114 cities are covered by the index measuring their ability to enable, attract, grow, retain and be global.
