Denmark among top 10 most competitive economies

Denmark ranks among top 10 of the most competitive economies in the world on the Global Competitiveness Index 2018. In particular, an effective labour market, access to a skilled talent pool and an agile and dynamic business environment are among the factors that make the Danish economy highly competitive.
Denmark is ranked 10th on this year’s Global Competitiveness Index published by the World Economic Forum. Ahead of both Norway and Finland, Denmark come in as the fifth most competitive economy in the EU.

The index assesses the competitiveness landscape of 140 economies, ranking them on 98 parameters on a scale from 0-100, organised across 12 pillars. Denmark receives a score on 80.6 - 0.7 per cent point higher than last year.

This year Global Competitiveness Index ranks the United States first with a score of 85.6, Singapore second and Germany third.

Danish economy well prepared for the future

The Danish economy performs exceptionally well on macroeconomic stability and access to an agile and dynamic business environment with a very high degree of ITC adoption. In addition, Denmark receives a high score for a well-functioning labour market, which fosters productivity and a highly skilled workforce.
