Denmark is committed to reach very ambitious climate action goals: to reduce overall carbon emissions by 70% already by 2030 and to reach net zero by 2045.

40+ years of targeted green policies have already positioned Denmark as a global leader in wind power and today, more than 75% of the energy in the Danish electricity grid is from renewable sources – one of the highest levels in the world – and the goal is to reach 100% green electricity in the grid by 2027.

Denmark’s political ambitions is to scale in particular offshore wind capacity to at least triple the national consumption, thereby becoming a net exporter of renewable energy either through direct electrification or green hydrogen and derivatives, also referred to as power-to-x.
