Join Invest in Denmark at Cannabis Europa in London
In January 2018, the Danish government introduced a four-year medical cannabis pilot programme plus a special development scheme for the cultivation of cannabis in Denmark. The pilot programme licenses farmers to grow and handle cannabis to develop medical cannabis based products.
The pilot also includes the sale of prescription cannabis based medication in Denmark for multiple indications including Multiple Sclerosis, spinal cord injuries, chemo induced nausea and vomiting as well as chronic pain. Doctors are allowed to also prescribe for other indications as they see fit.
In November 2018, the government furthermore passed a motion to allow bulk exports of medical cannabis and the four-year pilot is highly likely to develop into a permanent programme.
