Surgical Safety Technologies forms strategic alliance with Rigshospitalet

Surgical Safety Technologies has entered into a strategic alliance with Copenhagen University Hospital, Rigshospitalet. The alliance involves the deployment of four OR Black Box systems, designed to enhance surgical safety and patient outcomes.
The New York-based patient safety company, Surgical Safety Technologies (SST), was founded in 2014 by Dr Teodor Grantcharov with a clear mission. They want to work for a future where surgery evokes the same trust as stepping onto an airplane – a universally consistent experience. Dr Grantcharov’s invention, the OR Black Box, meticulously records all activity related to the operating room to minimize risks and improve patient outcomes. In this new public-private partnership, SST will supply Copenhagen University Hospital, Rigshospitalet, with four OR Black Box systems to support a culture of high reliability and psychological safety.

Why Surgical Safety Technologies chose Denmark?

The answer to this question lies in Denmark’s unique attributes. With Medicon Valley and the immense ecosystem of life science companies and a renowned public healthcare sector, Denmark was a strong contender for this partnership from the beginning. The decision to collaborate with Rigshospitalet aligns seamlessly with Denmark’s collaborative nature and the hospital’s reputation for world-class health research.
