Plug and Play’s focus in Denmark will be on sustainability, well aligned with Denmark’s ambitious target of 70% reductions in CO2 emissions by 2030 (from 1990s levels) and Copenhagen’s goal of becoming the first carbon neutral capital in the world.

For any successful innovation ecosystem, close collaboration between start-ups and corporates is vital. Plug and Play has championed the model of working closely with large corporates to help map their innovation needs and then scouting and matching them with relevant start-ups that they also help mature and scale.
Plug and Play Tech Center chose to invest in Denmark because of the country's attractive business climate, innovation-friendly environment, strong legal framework, and supportive government policies that make it an attractive destination for tech start-ups. Additionally, Denmark has a strong talent pool and offers access to a variety of networks and resources, world-class research institutions and a vibrant start-up ecosystem that make it an ideal place for tech entrepreneurs to both launch and grow their business.
We have chosen to focus initially on the sustainability agenda in Denmark as we see both particularly strong corporates and start-ups in this space combined with a strong demand for climate friendly solutions from consumers and the political will to make it a top priority.
