New IBM Client Innovation Centre in Copenhagen creates 250 jobs
Denmark’s unique position as an innovation lab with access to highly skilled IT talents with a solid business acumen has been the main reason for IBM’s choice of Denmark as the location for its new innovation centre. The centre is expected to bring IBM closer to its Danish clients, making it easier for them to collaborate on creating new innovative digital solutions.
The 250 new IT professionals will be working with groundbreaking technologies within big data, cognitive computing and digital business areas with the goal of developing cutting-edge, intelligent IT solutions.
A great opportunity for IT talents
The new innovation centre will not only benefit IBM and its clients - it will also strengthen Denmark’s position as a digital frontrunner:
To help foreign companies like IBM expand their businesses and create knowledge-intensive jobs in Denmark is one of the Danish Government’s key priorities. Therefore, I am very proud that we are able to attract this innovation centre to Denmark. The new centre is a great opportunity for the 250 IT talents, who will get the opportunity to work for one of the world's leading IT companies. I am confident that IBM will benefit greatly from the centre and Denmark’s pool of well-educated talents and world-class research.
An innovation lighthouse
Invest in Denmark expects the innovation centre will highlight the many attractive opportunities the Danish ICT sector has to offer:
“This is exactly the type of investment we wish to attract. The innovation centre will enhance the Greater Copenhagen ICT cluster and be an innovation lighthouse that potentially could attract other important players,” says Steen Hommel, Director of Invest in Denmark.
Invest in Denmark and Copenhagen Capacity will, together with leading Danish universities, assist IBM with the recruitment for the centre. IBM’s client innovation centre is expected to be launched 1 January 2017 in temporary offices in Copenhagen.
