Charting new horizons: Logistic expert H.Essers expands in Denmark with State-of-the-Art Warehouse in Ringsted
“Denmark is a strategically important market for us, and after 15 years in the Danish market, we are excited to expand with a third location. With the new warehouse, we will finally have the right infrastructure to handle the pharmaceutical and chemical products to an extent, that we can’t offer at our current locations in Denmark. It’s has been quite a challenge to develop a mega site as this, and I look very much forward to welcome existing and new customers soon.”
Meeting highest standards
The site in Ringsted is already approved for hazardous activities and the storage of dangerous goods, hence the new warehouse will therefore be built to the highest quality and safety standards for fire protection. Amongst others, this includes a unique a foam extinguisher system, that protects both the storage area and terminal for flammable liquids. Phase 1 of the expansion focused on establishing a 10,000 m2 warehouse with a special focus on handling chemical products. A future expansion will accommodate a further 55,000 m2, allowing for the handling of pharmaceutical products in various temperature ranges and the storage of almost 100,000 pallets. The investment is expected to generate over 150 jobs.“By building a completely new warehouse, where we can provide tailormade solutions, we secure our future position in Denmark and the Nordics. It’s quite unique what we can offer here in terms of infrastructure and our capabilities. At the same time, we also have the opportunity to implement green solutions from the beginning, and our new building will be built with large solar panels and be BREEAM certified.”
New logistics site with prime location
The new warehouse will be centrally located on Zealand in Ringsted along the main highway E20. The location gives access to the booming Danish pharma industry and is located in the so-called Medicon Valley. Also, Ringsted serves as a central spot for the transportation corridor to Jutland, Germany, Sweden and Norway.“With new investments in green energy and sustainable food production, Denmark is currently experiencing a great demand for chemicals. Furthermore, the Danish life science industry is investing heavily in their production facilities with the aim of increasing production and exports in the coming years. Not only are we happy to see H.Essers expanding with state-of-the-art warehouse space in these fields, we also believe this is crucial to meet future demands.”
