Intuitive expands collaboration with Copenhagen Academy for Medical Education and Simulation (CAMES)
As the capabilities of robotic-assisted surgery are rapidly advancing, there is a growing need to provide the appropriate technical training to surgeons for them to take full advantage of the da Vinci technologies. At the same time, Intuitive is helping hospitals maximize efficiency, uncover cost savings, increase utilization and more.
The ideal partner to achieve this in Denmark was identified in CAMES, a large life-science-focused training center located in Copenhagen near the Copenhagen University Hospital.
CAMES was created more than 20 years ago to increase the quality and safety of patient care. CAMES does this through teaching, research and development of medical education, and simulation-based training in close partnership with companies and clinicians.
"Our capabilities and resources allow us to be a unique destination for companies that are aiming to develop solutions that improve patient outcomes through education, simulation, training, and clinical feedback systems. The team of researchers at CAMES are able to leverage data, user input and technology to bring additional perspectives and to collaborate with companies like Intuitive to the benefit of the patients."
By providing advanced da Vinci surgical systems, progressive learning, and value-enhancing services, we help physicians, and their teams optimize care delivery to support the best patient outcomes possible.
Since our founding in 1995, Intuitive has envisioned a future of care that is less invasive and profoundly better, where diseases are identified early and treated quickly, so patients can get back to what matters most. That is what drives us every day. Collaborating with CAMES will allow surgeons and OR staff in Denmark and other European countries to be trained on the da Vinci technology. The collaboration goes beyond training as it is also an opportunity for Intuitive and CAMES to exchange ideas on how we best can bring value in the operating room.
“Given the construction of new hospitals with fewer hospital beds, an aging population and the general need to optimize resources, the Danish healthcare sector is faced with the significant challenge of identifying and helping develop solutions that will deliver the best possible results for patients. That is why we welcome companies like Intuitive to help patients and providers,”
