Critical Business Solutions opens regional office in Denmark
As a global frontrunner in the green transition, Denmark continues to grow fast as a European digital hub for sustainable data centres, with significant investments from tech giants including Google, Apple, Meta and Microsoft, as well as other players including Digiplex, SAP, Penta Infra, Prime DC, Bulk Infrastructure, Interxion and Global Connect.
Invest in Denmark helped Critical Business Solutions to set up in Denmark, providing information about the industry and connecting them to relevant people and stakeholders, including the Danish Data Center Industry (DDI), The Danish Institute of Fire and Security Technology (DBI) as well as the right service providers that could help with the legal incorporation.
"Denmark is a hotspot in the data centre market, so it is a strategic plan for us to expand to Denmark to satisfy existing customers and further grow our business. Invest in Denmark is professional and efficient and was very helpful in getting us to this point. They have established a good process, and to this end, they provide thorough yet personal service. They made engaging with the market easy, provided us with relevant information, and helped connect us to the right people."
We are pleased to welcome Critical Business Solutions to Denmark. Denmark is a digital frontrunner, and the data centre industry plays a key role in developing sustainable backbone infrastructure as the need to safely store data increases. CBS is an industry leader in electrical installation, fire protection, life safety and security systems and will help support the further development of the data centre industry in Denmark. We look forward to following their journey and continuing to assist them as they grow in the Nordics and beyond.
Denmark is an ideal location for green data centres
In the past decade alone, the number of internet users has doubled, and global internet traffic has increased 25-fold, according to the IEA. Datacentres play a central role as the backbone for enabling the digital and green transformation of society so people and businesses can benefit from digital tools to grow and work more efficiently.
Denmark’s international ranking as a destination for data centre investments went from none to #1 in five years, according to Investment Monitor, with 30+ investment cases at an estimated value of EUR 3-4 billion direct sector investments mainly from hyper-scale operators covering data centres, connectivity and related infrastructure.
A significant milestone was reached in 2023 when Danfoss, Google, Microsoft and Schneider Electric, together with the Danish Data Center Industry (the not-for-profit industry body representing the Danish data centre ecosystem), launched a new pan-European initiative called Net Zero Innovation Hub For Data Centers located in Fredericia, Denmark. The goal of the Innovation Hub is to accelerate the development of standard solutions for the green transition of data centres.
