  • Presentation of Trial Nation by Marianne Pilgaard, CEO. Describing the services to global companies and clinical researchers wishing to conduct clinical trials in Denmark. The presentation will include examples and information on how to proceed.
  • Presentation of the Danish clinical research environment within personalized medicine by Ulrik Lassen, head of Department of Oncology at Rigshospitalet. The presentation will include examples and information on how to proceed.
  • Presentation of ethical considerations related to clinical trials within personalized medicine involving genome analysis – and possibilities for practical support and collaboration by Elsebet Østergaard, consultant and Ph.D. at the Department of Clinical Genetics at Rigshospitalet. The presentation will include examples and information on how to proceed.

Marianne Pilgaard

Marianne Pilgaard, CEO at Trial Nation, has more than 25 years’ experience in life science clinical development and business and private-public partnerships. At Trial Nation their mission is to make Denmark the most attractive country for companies and other stakeholders to conduct clinical trials – for the benefit of patients, research and the economy.

Ulrik Lassen

Ulrik Lassen, Professor, MD, Ph.D. and Head of Department of Oncology at Rigshospitalet. Ulrik has served as president of the Danish Association for Cancer Research and of the Danish Society of Clinical Oncology (DSKO) and was appointed Professor in Clinical Oncology with focus on personalized medicine. Ulrik Lassen has established the Phase I Unit at the Department of Oncology at Rigshospitalet. The unit is amongst the largest and most active in Europe.

Elsebet Østergaard

Elsebet Østergaard is chief physician at the Department of Clinical Genetics at Copenhagen University Hospital Rigshospitalet and associate professor at University of Copenhagen. She works with genetic counselling and diagnostics of patients with rare diseases. She is also involved in interpretation and reporting of results from comprehensive genetic testing in diagnostics. She is the main responsible for the Department of Clinical Genetics’ Clinical Ethics Committee that assesses incidental findings in genetic research projects from both academics and the industry. 

Moderator: Allan Skaarup Kristensen

Science & Innovation Attaché at Innovation Centre Denmark Silicon Valley / San Francisco. ICDK SV builds bridges and facilitate partnerships between Danish and U.S. companies, research institutions and public stakeholders. Allan has previously worked for the Danish Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry, the Society of Engineers and the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science. He has 25 years of experience in the field of research policy and innovation and has in-depth knowledge about strategic planning of public research programs, research funding and foresight methods.
