Denmark among the best countries for talents

For the sixth year in a row, Denmark ranks second in the IMD World Talent Report 2017. In addition, Copenhagen takes the lead in INSEAD’s 2017 Global Talent Competitiveness Index.

Denmark excels in growing talent

Denmark is the highest-ranking Nordic country and the second-best country in the world for attracting and retaining talent, according to the IMD World Talent Report 2017. The report assesses 63 different countries and aggregates performance in three overarching categories: investment and development, appeal and readiness. Denmark scores high in all three categories.

This year’s report once again confirms that Denmark is a leader when it comes to developing home-grown talent as well as attracting and retaining highly-skilled foreign professionals. Easy access to skilled labour is crucial in today’s increasingly competitive knowledge-based economy – and Denmark offers just that.

The INSEAD Talent Competitiveness Index confirms Denmark’s leading position in both growing, attracting and retaining talents. The capital city of Denmark, Copenhagen, scores high on its ability to seize the opportunities of technological change and develop new skills to lead the future. 

Skilled labour and high worker motivation

Denmark receives a high score on investment in and development of home-grown talent, which is linked to a high commitment to education and employee training.
 
When it comes to attracting talent, the high quality of life and security in Denmark are major assets.  The Danish talent base is nurtured by a strong focus on attracting and retaining talent in companies and a high degree of motivation. Finally, and most importantly, Denmark offers easy access to skilled labour with excellent language skills.

About the World Talent Report and Global Talent Competitiveness Index

Each year the IMD World Competitiveness Center publishes its World Talent Report ranking 63 countries on their ability to develop, attract and retain talent to sustain the pool that enterprises employ to create sustainable value. The rankings are aggregated from performance in three overarching categories: investment and development, appeal and readiness.

The Global Talent Competitiveness Index, published annually by INSEAD, measures how countries grow, attract and retain talent, providing a resource for decision makers to develop strategies for boosting their talent competitiveness.
